Dongsook Whitehead

Founder & President

Ms. Whitehead is the President and a founding member of C4E. As an author, instructional designer, and programmer for C4E, Ms. Whitehead has authored and edited nationally recognized, accredited, interactive web-based courses in music, languages, and public speaking for the higher education market and training materials for Department of Defense customers. Ms. Whitehead’s main areas of research include the design and scalability of collaborative, distributed teaching environments on the Internet and the use of visual representation to teach complex concepts with interactive multimedia technologies. Ms. Whitehead earned a BA in English Literature and Journalism from Ewha Woman’s University and completed graduate studies in Instructional Media at California State University – Northridge..

cARLOS mALDONADO

Founder & Chief Learning Architect

Mr. Maldonado is the Chief Learning Architect and a founding member of C4E. He leads the Company’s development of online learning platforms and content. His current areas of research include the design and scalability of collaborative, distributed teaching environments on the Internet, and the use of visual representation to teach complex concepts using interactive multimedia technologies. His research findings are applied to continually advance C4E’s cutting-edge platform and tools. Prior to C4E and after graduating in Piano Performance from the Royal College of Music in London, he achieved recognition as an award-winning classical pianist touring Europe, the US, and Latin America. After earning a PhD in Education, he taught at the National Pedagogic University and Los Andes University, in Bogotá, Colombia, the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and as Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Director of Online Education at California State University, Northridge. Mr. Maldonado earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Colegio Anglo Colombiano, an ARCM in Piano and Orchestral Conducting from the Royal College of Music, a Master’s Degree in Music – Piano Performance from Boston University, and a PhD in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Bruce WHitehead

CEO

Mr. Whitehead is the CEO and a founding member of C4E where he is responsible for setting the Company’s strategic direction, managing operations, and providing financial guidance and oversight. Prior to C4E, Mr. Whitehead was a Managing Director – International Business at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Prior experiences were in the defense and electronics industries where he gained a diverse background of executive experiences, including general management, strategic planning, business development, programs management, and mergers & acquisitions.

Bryan McElhaney

VP of Sales & Marketing

Mr. McElhaney leads C4E’s sales and marketing teams. Prior to C4E, Mr. McElhaney leveraged his background in music to play in different orchestras and held a teaching position at Baldwin Wallace University. Having always been a strong advocate of technology in education, he left teaching and playing professionally to join Sibelius USA, a division of Avid Technology. He has held several sales and marketing positions at various high-tech companies. Mr. McElhaney earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Eastman School of Music.

Kristin Choi

Chief Strategy Officer

Ms. Choi is responsible for developing business strategy and spearheading business development, client relations, and strategic relationships. Her responsibilities include identifying opportunities, building teaming arrangements, conducting competitive analyses, and submitting proposals. Prior to C4E, Ms. Choi was an Associate Lawyer at Hogan Lovells LLP and O’Melveny & Myers LLP, specializing in corporate M&A transactions and securities law. She also served as a law clerk to The Honorable Robert Kugler of the District Court for the District of New Jersey and The Honorable Zoe Bush of the Superior Court of District Court of Columbia. Ms. Choi earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Diplomacy from Yonsei University and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Christopher Gaines

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Gaines is the CTO of C4E, where he is responsible for management of corporate and client network infrastructure and ongoing analysis, design, and implementation of technologies to support C4E’s various technology platforms. Mr. Gaines joined C4E in 2010 following a 15-year career as a systems/network administrator in the telecommunications and defense industry. Immediately prior to joining C4E he was a Senior Systems and Network Administrator for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

VP of Customer Service

Ms. Washington leverages her 18 years of experience in software technical support to lead C4E’s customer service function, where she strives to ensure that every customer interaction is exceptional. Ms. Washington earned a BS in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State College.

John Wulff

VP of Finance & Administration

John Wulff is Director of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources at Connect For Education. John began work at C4E shortly after graduating from Radford University in 2001 with a degree in Business Management. John also completed the Career Studies Certificate in Accounting from Northern Virginia Community College completing all the course requirements for his CPA. He also serves as the Assistant Facility Security Officer at C4E’s affiliate C4EIS, serving the U.S. Government and commercial clients. Mr. Wulff balances his work life by trying to keep up with his three young children. As a lifelong D.C. area resident, John is an avid fan of all sports but is especially loyal to the Redskins, Capitals, and Orioles. John also enjoys running, swimming, listening to music, watching movies and the beach.

Anita Horsley

VP of Product Management

Anita Horsley has more than 10 years proven track record and experience in digital education and technology delivery and is the VP of Product Management for Connect for Education. Ms. Horsley has a master’s degree in Education and is an author for Packt Publishing. Ms. Horsley has been working in adult education since 2001 and with online education tools and platforms since 2009. Ms. Horsley is proficient in product & project management skills and tools, strategic planning, presentation skills, a variety of authoring and instructional design methods and tools, and several learning management systems. She is a certified Adobe Captivate Instructor and Professional. She also a certified Online Training Professional.
